How to prepare for DIMAQ: a step-by-step study plan

Published: · Updated:

Start by choosing your level and checking the current syllabus. Then practise questions, explain your answers and revisit topics where you make mistakes. The demo lets you try this approach before choosing access.

Five steps to organised study

  1. Choose your level

Basic develops foundational knowledge. Professional is intended for people with a broader working knowledge of digital marketing. Compare the requirements with your experience, rather than choosing solely by the name of the certificate.

  2. Check the current syllabus

Read the syllabus and examination rules published by IAB Polska before planning your study. List the topics you already understand and those you need to revisit. Requirements can change.

  3. Answer first, then read the explanation

Try to explain why your answer is correct. Compare the explanation with your reasoning. Learn the concept and its practical application rather than memorising the answer letter.

  4. Return to mistakes with new examples

Record the topic behind each mistake. Review it and test your understanding on another example. Spread these reviews across several study sessions.

  5. Keep practice and certification separate

Practice questions help you learn, but they do not replace the official exam. Check registration, costs, rules and available dates with the certification organiser.

Try the learning approach in the demo

The demo contains selected questions from Basic and Professional. Packages provide independent study using Anna Robotycka’s materials, practice questions and training exams. The AI trainer supports learning in the 30-day package. Every question in both programmes has an explanation and a cited source.

Turn a practice-test result into a study plan

I suggest using your first attempt to identify topics to work on. Record both your answer and the reason for choosing it. A correct guess without understanding deserves another review just as an incorrect answer does.

Separate different types of difficulty

Distinguish an unfamiliar concept from a calculation error or a misread scenario. For a new term, revisit its definition and an example. For a calculation, write down the formula, units and input values. For a scenario, identify the campaign goal and constraints before choosing a tool.

Use a short cycle: concept, example, decision

Choose one topic, read its explanation and cited source, then solve an exercise without looking at the answer. Change the numbers or campaign objective and check whether you can still justify your decision. This is my suggested study method: use the test result to choose your next step.

Plan a week of practice, then review your progress

Use the first session for a test and a list of knowledge gaps. In the next three sessions, work on one difficult area at a time. Use the fifth for exercises combining channels, the sixth for timed practice and the seventh to review mistakes. Adjust the number of sessions to your starting point and repeat the cycle where understanding is still incomplete.

Explain your reasoning, not just the answer letter

For campaign performance questions, explain what your chosen metric measures, the inputs it needs and what it leaves out. For example, distinguish sales revenue from profit when interpreting advertising returns. When selecting a channel, relate it to the objective, audience and measurement approach.

Frequently asked questions

Can I prepare independently?

Yes. Start with the current syllabus, identify knowledge gaps and practise applying concepts. The time and support you need depend on your experience.

How long does preparation take?

There is no single study duration for everyone. The 7, 14 and 30-day access periods are product access periods, not a promise that you will be ready for the exam within that time.

Which access includes the AI trainer?

The 30-day package includes 300 AI trainer responses. The 7 and 14-day packages include materials and practice without AI chat.

Does learning access include the official exam?

No. This independent programme does not include the official DIMAQ exam or guarantee a certificate. Certification is a separate process.
